概要 | The “seeing” matter through the interaction between matter and electromagnetic waves is referred to as spectroscopy, in which a spectrum is measured by plotting the intensity of electromagnetic waves against the wavelength or energy of the waves. A spectrum is a graph showing absorption, emission, or scattering of photons. By analyzing the spectrum, information about the structure and chemical bonds of matter can be obtained. In this lecture, we mainly focus on vibrational spectroscopy (infrared and Raman), explaining its fundamentals and practical applications. |
達成目標 | ・Classifying molecules into point groups. ・Decomposition of reducible representations using the character tables. ・Explaining normal vibration. ・Explaining selection rules using point groups. |
